Evaluating EU progress in implementing the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the EU Disability Strategy

The purposes of the award are (1) to provide input into the European Commission's first State Party report to the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (this UN treaty being the first UN human treaty to which the EU has become a party); and (2) to evaluate progress made by the European Commission in implementing its Disability Strategy 2010-2020.

To this end, a multinational team has been established, involving the University of Leeds, NUI Galway and the Human European Consultancy.

Anna Lawson is the Leeds PI on this project. She and Mark Priestley (SSP) will contribute Leeds' input into the co-ordination of the project and the writing of project deliverables.

Sarah Woodin will provide UK research and Derek Whayman provides research support to the central co-ordination team.
