Drink-Driving and Generational Change: Building an Explanation of the Drink-Drive Drop

Drink-driving has declined massively in recent British history. This important, sustained behavioural change does not appear correlated with population-level trends in alcohol consumption, road safety or offending. Nor is it connected to legal change. What has caused this precipitous drop in drink-driving and associated harm? This pilot project begins an exploration of the extent to which generational change has driven the long-term decline in drink-driving in Britain.
