National and international networks

The Centre has strong international connections which include the Centre for Economic Law Vrijie Universiteit of Brussels; Erasmus University Rotterdam; the European Academic Network of VAT; the Centre for Corporate and Commercial Law, National University of Jodphur; University of Muenster; Catholic University of Leuven; and East China University of Political Science and Law (ECUPL), Shanghai.

The Centre co-hosts the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence in Digital Governance, funded by the European Commission, with Erasmus University Rotterdam and Bar Ilan University.

The Centre is a founding member of the China-Britain Commercial Law Centre with ECUPL, Shanghai, and also has links with the Leeds University Business School and with the local and national business community and profession. It is a member of the Leeds Professional Services Hub.

The CBLP is a member of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development’s (UNCTAD) Research Partnership Platform on Competition and Consumer Protection. The Platform brings together research institutions, universities, competition authorities, business and civil society. It provides a platform where they can undertake joint research and other activities with UNCTAD; disseminate the results of their own work; and exchange ideas on the issues and challenges in the area of competition and consumer protection, particularly those faced by developing countries and economies in transition.

The Centre regularly hosts visiting international scholars. Recent visitors have included academics from the University of Sydney; University of Barcelona; University of Georgia; Shanghai University of Politics and Law; and others. Similarly, CBLP members have been visiting international faculty at, for example, Emory University; Seattle University; University of Melbourne; UNSW; University of Adelaide; University of Lisbon; and others.
