Our research
Established in 1996, the Centre for Business Law and Practice (CBLP) is an internationally recognised, leading business law research centre. The Centre’s particular, unique feature is the breadth and diversity of the research expertise of its members. The Centre aims to address matters of contemporary concern in business law and regulation using pluralistic perspectives that mix disciplinary and inter-disciplinary approaches. It strives for high quality research outputs that have a broader societal impact.

Our academic team consists of over 20 full-time Faculty and over 40 postgraduate researchers in the field of business law who conduct research and teaching within the School.

Dr Amaka Vanni, Lecturer in Law, tackles the historical and contemporary impact of intellectual property law in our everyday lives. In this video she talks about her work to introduce diverse voices and experiences to challenge Eurocentric rules and norms of international law.
The project has received support from Research England and the Canadian Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC).
