Please tell us a bit about yourself.

I am a first year student and I live at home whilst studying at the Univeristy of Leeds.

What motivated you to apply for your course at Leeds?

The similarities with my English Language A-Level really appealed to me when choosing my course. I also was interested in the opportunity to study a foreign language in year 1 and 3 of my course. I chose Leeds as it’s my favourite city in the UK and the university campus has a warm and friendly vibe, I also wanted to live at home and Leeds is only a 20-minute drive for me.

What do you think of your course?

I really enjoy my course because of the variety of modules that I study, my class sizes also vary meaning that I can experience a large lecture and a small seminar with more one on one teaching.

How would you describe the help and guidance you've received?

The staff are amazing and really highlight the importance of wellbeing and that if you have any personal problems that the staff are there to support and listen to you. If you have any issues regarding work the teaching staff are quick to reply and offer lots of guidance which is very helpful.

How would you describe the facilities?

Leeds University has a vast amount of facilities such as the edge gym which is very modern and has an amazing swimming pool. The number of libraries is great, and the Laidlaw Library is my personal favourite because of how modern it is. The students’ union is amazing and there is always something to get involved in.
