Collaging Multilingual Lives. A creative public-engagement workshop for young people, teachers and families in Yorkshire in partnership with Leeds Chinese Community School, as part of the Festival of Social Sciences
RICELT, the Network of Chilean research in ELT. We have supported the founding and development of the only platform for disseminating research in the Chilean ELT context. The platform features over 500 pieces of research published by undergraduate and postgraduate students, in-service teachers and academic researchers
Encountering the Other: Discussing Identity, Difference and Belonging A multi-media teaching resource, co-produced with Leeds Museums and Galleries. It translates ethical principles for engaging with difference into guidelines for supporting reflective dialogue among young people on a difficult and sensitive topic of Othering – the practice of labelling and treating someone in exclusionary terms (Curriculum links KS4 PSHE)
New Words, New Meanings: A research-based book for school teachers that helps them to make the language of their subject less daunting and more accessible for all students (Curriculum links Relationships and Living in the Wider World; KS4 Citizenship)
Language Teachers’ Lives in Global Lockdown: Voices from Around the World: An open access collection of narratives of educators’ experiences to inspire ongoing reflection on the role of language and education in building inclusive societies beyond global lockdown
Under the Big Tree: Šuňiben kamibnaha A bilingual (English and Romani) book of poetry that can be used by educators, community leaders, neighbours and families to start a conversation and make a connection in communities that have been kept apart by a history of inequality
Language Education in Third Spaces: Co-produced with a Slovak NGO Cesta von and community members, this guide in Slovak and English is for those working in informal education in multilingual and intercultural contexts.
