We are pleased to share the news that we have been ranked 8th in the UK for Law and 3rd for Criminology – increasing our position by several places in both subject areas from the previous year.

On 31 March 2017 the Academy of Social Sciences announced that it had conferred the award of Fellow on 47 leading social scientists.

Dr Whelan has presented his latest research on cartel criminalisation to staff and PhD students at the Centre for Antitrust and Regulatory Studies, which is based at the University of Warsaw, Poland.

Along with an academic colleague from Romania, Dr Whelan co-edited a book which critically examines the issue of consistency in the national enforcement of EU competition law.

The Centre was established in 1987 to pursue research into criminal justice systems and criminological issues and has since grown to become one of the leading criminological centres of its kind.
