Clive Walker co-authors major government report on deportation with assurances
Clive Walker, Professor Emeritus of Criminal Justice Studies has co-authored a report published by the Home Office.
The report, divided into two halves reviews the process of deporting foreign nationals who are suspected of terrorism.
The first part of the report, prepared by David Anderson QC, summarises the evolution and operation of deportation with assurances (DWA) in the United Kingdom, assesses its utility and answers the specific questions in the review’s terms of reference.
The second part, is prepared by Professor Walker QC and gives a detailed account of the international legal position, together with a comparative survey focusing on Australia, Canada, Israel, New Zealand, the USA, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Denmark.
