Enrichment opportunities

Undergraduate students laughing together

Choosing your degree is just the start. At Leeds there are many opportunities to enrich your student experience with a range of societies, sports and fitness, volunteering programmes, work experience and international activities to choose from.

You can also pursue your personal interests and broaden your degree with discovery modules, which can be chosen from programmes across the University.

Clubs and societies

Leeds University Union (LUU) offers you the chance to meet new people, continue an interest or discover something new with more than 350 clubs and societies for you to choose from.

Our student-led groups are the perfect way to meet other Leeds students, pick up or develop interests and skills, and to find your people at Uni.

The Education Society (EdSoc) is also a great way to socialise with your coursemates, as well as further your studies through regular workshops, talks and socials for students and staff across the department.

Volunteering

We offer a range of volunteering opportunities to help you discover skills and experience that will make you stand out from the crowd after you graduate.

In the School of Education, you can volunteer to take part in a range of award-winning activities, including Junior Detectives. This collaboration with West Yorkshire Police gives our students the opportunity to assist all stakeholders in the delivery of this multi-faceted initiative.

Global community

The international approach here at Leeds, feeds into your studies, through internationally focused research and projects or teaching led by academics from all over the world. Our Global Community offers you endless opportunities.

For those students looking for an immersive experience, then our overseas internship could be exactly the opportunity to apply for. In the School of Education, we offer opportunities to apply for internships abroad with a selection of Undergraduate programmes.

Work placements

Here in the School of Education, we are fully committed to increasing student opportunities for work-based learning. In our optional BA modules or the refreshed MA Education programme, but also in tandem with our Career's Service, we can offer a diverse range of placements in Education Providers through traditional day release placements, student-led After School Clubs within several local schools, and campus-based events that our students play host to schoolchildren from the region.
