SLSA win for Leeds academics

Two Leeds academics have won prizes at the Socio-Legal Studies Association (SLSA) annual conference.

Dr David Churchill won the SLSA Theory and History Prize for his book ‘Crime Control and Everyday Life in the Victorian City: The police and the public’. While Professor Michael Thomson won the SLSA Article Prize for an article he published in the Journal of Law and Society with Marie Fox called ‘Bodily integrity, embodiment, and the regulation of parental choice’ .

Congratulations to both of them on this significant achievement.

It’s not the first time a Leeds academic has been recognised by the SLSA in 2015 Dr Henry Yeomans won the SLSA Theory and History Prize for his book ‘Alcohol and Moral Regulation: Public attitudes, spirited measures and Victorian hangovers’.

The winners of the SLSA prizes were awarded at a dinner at their annual conference which this year was held here at the University.
