Dr Konstantinos Stylianou contributes in training programme for judges from European Union member states

The European Commission's National Judges Training Programme is held periodically to deliver training to European Union (EU) member states judges.

In May 2022 School of Law Associate Professor in Competition Law and Regulation Dr Konstantinos Stylianou participated as a trainer in the European Commission's National Judges Training Programme, which this year was held in cooperation with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s (OECD) Regional Competition Centre in Budapest and hosted by the Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH).

The training spanned two full days of lectures and interactive workshops, and covered cartels, abuse of dominance, and enforcement of competition law. A second part of the same training programme will be offered again by the European Commission, OECD RCC, and GVH in November 2022 and will focus on the economics of competition law.

Dr Stylianou said “working with judges is a great opportunity to put theory to practice but also to get asked questions that you haven't considered before in academic settings, especially since the judges come from various different countries.”
