Dr Martin Lamb visits Ukraine under British Council Exploratory Visit Scheme

From 14 to 18 November, Martin Lamb was in the Ukraine visiting Poltava National Pedagogic University under the British Council Exploratory Visit Scheme.

This was a return visit following Dr Tetyana Lunyova’s week in Leeds in May earlier this year. Martin observed undergraduate classes in the English Philology Department and a training session for in-service teachers of English. In addition, he gave lectures on motivation in language learning and teaching for department staff and for final year undergraduates. Agreement was reached to try to extend the collaboration in two areas of mutual interest: a possible joint research bid on the motivational potential of project work in English language classes, and the provision of teaching practice opportunities for the School of Education’s undergraduates.
