Our research

Research is central to all of our work within the School of Education. Our ambition is to be a centre for excellence in educational research. We hope to foster a culture of lifelong learning – facilitating the education of the next generation of global citizens and helping individuals to reach their potential, work towards meeting global challenges, and bring about a more inclusive and just society.

We conduct world-leading, impact-led research in the areas of: language education; applied linguistics and approaches to language analysis; childhood and youth studies; inclusive education and social justice; science and maths education; educational policy and curriculum enactment; and digital education.

Our research is organised around four research centres whose staff deliver teaching and supervision to our students at all levels, and which include a large and active community of postgraduate researchers.

Our world-leading research is organised into four research centres, led by staff who are experts in their respective fields.
