Academic freedom

The School of Sociology and Social Policy is committed to ensuring that academic staff and other colleagues have freedom within the law to question and test received wisdom, and to put forward new ideas and controversial or unpopular opinions.

In this context, the School supports Professor Sally Hines and colleagues working in the area of transgender rights.
