ICT based solutions for caregivers

Assessing their impact on the sustainability of long term care in an ageing Europe

The main goal of this project was to investigate the potential impact of information and communication technologies on informal carers of older people living in the community (eg. relatives and friends) as well as on paid assistants employed by private households.

The project developed a series of case studies across a number of European countries intended to demonstrate good practice, obstacles/barriers, and other issues in this field.

CIRCLE contributed two detailed case study descriptions of key projects in England and Scotland designed to support service users and their carers through the use of assistive technology.

This research fed into a cross-country comparative analysis, drawing out similarities and differences, key findings, and scope for future research.
