Prestigious shortlisting for the School of Law’s Dr Anna Barker!
Dr Anna Barker’s Safer Parks for Women and Girls project guidance has been shortlisted for the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) Yorkshire Awards for Planning Excellence 2024!
The RTPI Awards for Planning Excellence ‘recognise and highlight the positive contribution planning professionals make in the communities we serve around the world.’
Dr Barker, alongside her partners in the Safer Parks Consortium West Yorkshire Combined Authority, Keep Britain Tidy, Make Space for Girls, and the University of Leeds, have put together guidance on how to create parks in which women and girls feel safe and welcome. It builds on research led by Dr Anna Barker and Professor George Holmes into the issue.
Harper Perry, a Newcastle-based design studio, did the Safer Parks guidance graphic design and the architectural drawings in the guidance.
Josie Brookes, a freelance illustrator, did the character illustrations.
The winners will be announced at RTPI Yorkshire Summer Reception and Awards.
