Centre for Business Law and Practice joins the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development Research Partnership Platform on Competition and Consumer Protection

The CBLP has joined the United Nations body responsible for dealing with economic and sustainable development issues with a focus on trade, finance, investment and technology.

We are proud to announce that the Centre for Business Law and Practice (CBLP) has joined the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development Research Partnership Platform on Competition and Consumer Protection.

The CBLP joins over 50 other institutions, universities, competition authorities and corporate affiliates in the interdisciplinary Research Partnership Platform, which provides policy advice on the formulation and enforcement of competition and consumer protection laws and policies, supports educational, advocacy and outreach activities on competition and consumer protection and related issues and contributes to training and capacity building in the developing world.

Based in Geneva, Switzerland, and with 194 member states, UNCTAD is a permanent intergovernmental body established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1964. Part of the UN Secretariat and the United Nations Development Group, it reports to the UN General Assembly and the Economic and Social Council.

UNCTAD supports developing countries to access the benefits of a globalized economy more fairly and effectively, helping to equip them to deal with the potential drawbacks of greater economic integration. By providing provide analysis, facilitating consensus-building and offering technical assistance UNCTAD helps developing countries to use trade, investment, finance and technology as vehicles for inclusive and sustainable development.
