Professor Subedi awarded the Prasiddha Prabal Janasewa Shree by the President of Nepal

Prasiddha Prabal Janasewa Shree is one of the highest civilian awards of Nepal. It is awarded to individuals from different walks of life in recognition of their contributions to the country.

The School of Law is very proud that Professor Surya P. Subedi, OBE, KC, DCL was recently awarded a high-level State honour, the Prasiddha Prabal Janasewa Shree, by the President of Nepal at a special ceremony held in the Presidential Palace in Kathmandu, Nepal.  

Professor Subedi was awarded this state honour in recognition of his life-time contribution to international law and his services to the nation.  

I am honoured to be decorated by the President of Nepal with this high-level state title and grateful to the President and the people of Nepal.

He has advised the government of Nepal on a number of international legal matters over the years and has published widely on international legal aspects of Nepal's external relations.  

Professor Subedi was also recently appointed to the list of arbitrators under the UK-EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement; a free trade agreement signed on 30 December 2020, between the European Union, the European Atomic Energy Community, and the United Kingdom.
