Professor Subedi appointed to the list of arbitrators under the UK-EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement
The EU–UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement is a free trade agreement signed on 30 December 2020, between the European Union, the European Atomic Energy Community, and the United Kingdom.
The School of Law is pleased to announce that Professor Surya P. Subedi OBE, KC, DCL, has been appointed to the list of arbitrators under the UK-EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement, a post-Brexit comprehensive treaty concluded with provisions for arbitration to settle any trade and other disputes between the UK and the EU.
His name was one of the six names of prominent international lawyers proposed by the UK Government and approved by the European Union. Professor Subedi is renowned for his contribution to international law in general and international law of trade and investment in particular. He teaches, among other courses, International Trade Law at Leeds and is the author of an internationally acclaimed book 'International Investment Law: Reconciling Policy and Principle' (Hart Publishing, Oxford, 4th edition 2020).
