Dr Parada delivers tax workshop for tax officials of the Republic of Indonesia
The project is part of the Indonesian project called ‘Domestic Resource Mobilization for Sustainable Development'.
The School of Law’s Dr Leopoldo Parada delivered a five-day workshop on tax treaties for tax officials of the Republic of Indonesia. The workshop took place between 8-12 August 2022 and it was organised by the Fiscal Policy Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BKF)/Ministry of Finance, the Institute for Economic and Social Research at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Indonesia (LPEM FEB UI), and the GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit, GmBH).
This was a tremendous experience considering the market size of the country and the role that Indonesia is playing at the moment also hosting the several G-20 meetings during 2022. I am very happy to have contributed to a better understanding and application of tax treaty law in Indonesia, as well as to have met an incredible group of brilliant civil servants dedicated to these matters.
Dr Leopoldo Parada
The project is part of the Indonesian project called ‘Domestic Resource Mobilization for Sustainable Development' (DRM), which aims to address fiscal policy challenges to achieve the objectives of their financial agenda 2030. The work ultimately aimed to disseminate and pass on knowledge of updates on tax treaties with relevant stakeholders, facilitate discussions among participants on identifying solutions to improve governance in taxation and its enforcement, as well as to maintain a partnership with stakeholders in the relevant work field.
