Dr Parada presents work at 46th Annual Congress of the Colombian Institute for Tax Law
The Annual Congress of the Colombian Institute for Tax Law is one of the oldest specialised conferences in the Latin American region, running uninterruptedly for almost half a century.
School of Law lecturer in Tax Law Dr Leopoldo Parada presented his recent work on the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Pillars 1 and 2 and digital taxation at the 46th Annual Congress of the Colombian Institute for Tax Law in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia.
Dr Parada's work ("The Global Tax Agreement: Impact upon Emerging Economies" in Studies of Tax Law, Customs and International Commerce, ICDT, 2022) evaluates the OECD measures and provides specific advice for emerging economies, especially regarding their implementation and policy impact.
This year, 2022, the Annual Congress of the Colombian Institute for Tax Law (ICDT) gathered specialists in tax law and customs from all around the country who met in person after two years of online versions of it.
Dr Parada said "My experience presenting for an in-person audience of more than a thousand specialised tax people was great, especially because the ICDT Congress is very famous in Latin America and convokes directors of tax administrations and policy makers, too".
