Dr Joanne Hawkins awarded Journal of Environmental Law’s annual Best Article Prize

Dr Hawkins was given the prize for her article "‘We Want Experts’: Fracking and the Case of Expert Excess" published in the Journal of Environmental Law.

The School of Law is incredibly proud that our Lecturer in Business Law Dr Joanne Hawkins is the 2020 winner of the Richard Macrory Prize for the Best Article in the Journal of Environmental Law (OUP) which is awarded for the most thought-provoking and innovative article published in the Journal in that year.

It is a real privilege to be awarded the Richard Macrory prize. I am incredibly lucky to be surrounded by generous and supportive colleagues, both at Leeds and in the wider Environmental Law community, and I owe them many thanks for their time and support in developing this article.
