School of Law celebrates success at 2025 Leeds Partnership Awards

The School of Law proudly celebrates its staff and students recognised for their outstanding contributions at the 2025 Leeds Partnership Awards.
Winners of the 2025 Leeds Partnership Awards were announced during a special ceremony held on campus on 6 May, and the School of Law is delighted to highlight the success of our colleagues and students among this year’s outstanding nominees.
Shortlisted individuals gathered at the Leeds University Union (LUU) to celebrate the people who exemplify the values of the Leeds Partnership: a shared commitment by students and staff to work collaboratively in support of our University community. A record-breaking 2,749 nominations were submitted for the awards this year, reflecting the remarkable breadth and impact of contributions across the University.
Among the School of Law community, Adam Baker won the Feedback and Assessment Award. Elizabeth Bourgeois received the Postgraduate Researcher Award. Additionally, Dr James Greenwood-Reeves was shortlisted for the Equality and Diversity Award.
I'm most grateful to everyone who kindly nominated me. I'm also especially thankful to everyone in the school and university, both colleagues and students, who have influenced my practice in assessment and feedback. This award reflects their contribution and the strength of our school community.
The overall University of Leeds Postgraduate Researcher of the Year was a nice win for the Faculty, for the School of Law and for me. I have taught a lovely cohort this year and I am grateful for their support and nominations.
Reflecting on these achievements, Head of School Professor Louise Ellison, said, “I am delighted to see our staff and students recognised in this way. These awards showcase the strength of our community, the quality of our research and teaching, and our shared commitment to making the University a place where everyone can thrive.”
Professor Jeff Grabill, Pro-Vice-Chancellor: Student Education & Experience, described the event as “one of the most spectacular events of student-staff collaboration I’ve ever experienced in my academic career”, while Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Shearer West added, “We are very lucky to have such a talented and dedicated community all working to make a difference.”
The School of Law is incredibly proud of our award winners and nominees for their dedication and leadership in advancing an inclusive, collaborative, and high-quality learning environment.
