Professor Dave Wall co-authors article on cybercriminals for “The Conversation”

The article is entitled “Nothing like the mafia: cybercriminals are much like the everyday, poorly paid business worker”.

The School of Law’s Professor Dave Wall contributes to the article with Dr Roberto MusottoResearch Fellow at Edith Cowan University, which questions the popular notion that cybercriminals can make millions of dollars from the comfort of their home.

The article is based on the paper “More Amazon than Mafia: analysing a DDoS stresser service as organised cybercrime” co-authored by Professor Wall, which suggests that offenders who illegally sell cybercrime tools to other groups are not promised automatic success.
