Research interests
When I first came to the University I worked as a research fellow on the Enactment and Impact of Science Education Reform (EISER) project. I have also worked on the AHRC funded Translating Science project and now am Co-I on the uptake of the new and important post-16 Core maths qualification recently introduced in England. This is a large-scale, longitudinal project (2017-2020) funded by the Nuffield Foundation
My research interests lie students' participation in and attitudes towards school and education, and curriculum and policy changes that may affect these. I am interested more broadly in the sociology of education and social justice.
