School of Education recognised in university rankings 2026
A look into the successes for the School of Education in this years' university rankings.
This years’ university league tables have now been released for 2026, demonstrating and celebrating the results of continued efforts of all associated with the school.
The latest subject rankings from the QS World University Rankings were published in March 2026. Ranking the world’s top universities in individual subject areas, the QS World University Rankings account for five indicators including academic reputation, employer reputation and research excellence.
Education at the University of Leeds placed 76th worldwide. This marks an improvement on last years’ result, moving up from 89th. This places Education at Leeds in 12th place across the United Kingdom.

QS World Rankings
The School of Education has continued its upward trend in the Complete University Guide, placing 10th with an overall score of 97%. This places Education amongst the 21 subjects at the University of Leeds which have achieved a score within the top ten.
Subject ranking, Complete University Guide
In the Complete University Guide, the School of Education has, once again, received an overall score of 100% for Childhood and Youth Studies, placing us at number one in the country for this course.
Aside from 2024 where we temporarily dipped to second place, the School of Education at the University of Leeds has placed first every year for the past five years.
The Times Higher Education has also demonstrated how the hard work and commitment of the staff and students within the school have paid off, placing the School of Education in 11th place for Education studies in the UK. This represents an improvement of five places from last years’ results.

The results which have been acheived by the School of Education across these rankings demonstrate the continued hard work and dedication which has been shown consistently by the staff and students across the school.
