New mobility grant: Gergely Kajos's upcoming trip and the benefits this brings

A first year PhD student in the School of Education, has been awarded a mobility grant to continue his research in New Zealand.
Gergely Kajos has been awarded a mobility grant to spend three months at the School of Linguistics and Applied Language Studies at the Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand, one of the leading centres of vocabulary research globally.
During his stay from April until June, he will continue to work on his thesis exploring academic writing and vocabulary development, while benefiting from contact with leading vocabulary experts, such as Professor Averil Coxhead and Dr Anna Siyanova. This opportunity will not only benefit Gergely but will also plant the seeds for potential further collaborations between the School of Linguistics and Applied Language Studies at the Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand and the School of Education at the University of Leeds.
This opportunity is funded by the UK Government’s Turing Scheme and the University of Leeds. The Turing Scheme supports postgraduate researcher mobility in order to develop their skills, grow their academic networks and enhance their future employability.
I am incredibly excited and honoured to have won this mobility grant because it will allow me to connect with some of the top leading vocabulary researchers in my field. It's brilliant that the doctoral training at Leeds has opportunities like this because it will not only improve the quality of my research, but give me opportunities to expand my academic network as well as experience a new culture!
