Please tell us a bit about yourself and your background.
My name is Rahima, I am 26 and I am from Oman. I work as a Teaching Assistant in a business school at a university in my home country.
What motivated you to apply to study your chosen course and why did you chose Leeds?
The University of Leeds is a highly ranked university, so it is a great achievement to be a student here. I believe studying at Leeds will benefit me by improving my research and writing skills.
What do you think of your course, have there been any particular highlights for you?
My course was totally new to me as I came from a different background, and that provided me with the opportunity to be introduced to the field of law, specifically law in the UK, EU and US which is a great opportunity for me to learn how business law works in these major economies. It has been a challenging experience which has allowed me to achieve my potential. I will always feel so proud to have taken on this challenge.
How would you describe the help and guidance provided by the staff within the School of Law?
Law School staff are very friendly and helpful. As an international student I was not sure where to go or whom to ask at the beginning of my course. However, once I was introduced to my personal tutor I got to understand things better and I was encouraged not to be hesitant, to inquire and ask questions. The student help desk and course director were also further helping hands in the School.
How would you describe the facilities at the University?
The Law School provides the best facilities to their students. My favourite place in the School is the postgraduate student room where I can meet my colleagues and we can work together.
