The Problem with Banks, the Persistence of Rating Agencies and the Missing Link in Understanding Global Finance

This paper will discuss research on banks, credit rating agencies and the global financial crisis.

You are invited to the POLIS seminar by Dr Timothy Sinclair from Warwick. Please come along to what promises to be a fascinating talk - PhD and MA researchers to are encouraged to attend.

Abstract

In this paper I discuss my research on banks, credit rating agencies and the global financial crisis. I argue that market participants, policy-makers, and scholars have neglected the social links which make global finance work. Five years on from the crisis we seem to have learnt little about these fundamentals and the moment for reform has passed. The prognosis is not encouraging.

All welcome. There will be an opportunity for networking after the talk.
