We are delighted that the 30th Conference of the Association of Southeast Asian Studies in the UK (ASEAS) will be hosted by the University of Leeds. We expect around 250 participants.
Papers on all areas of Southeast Asian studies are welcome, including:
- Politics and Good Governance
- Sustainable and Equitable Development
- Cultural Heritage and Cultural Production

To submit the abstract of your paper, please contact the panel convenor in the first instance if there is a panel which suits your topic. There will be additional panels based on other topics, depending on people’s interests and research to be presented.

Registration
Registration rates for the conference are:
- Early Bird: £165 (closes Saturday 30 June)
- Full Rate: £225
- Student Early Bird: £120 (closes Saturday 30 June)
- Student Full: £160
For the student rate, proof of status may be requested.
Registration includes access to conference facilities, lunch on two days, an evening reception (with buffet) on one day, and mid-morning / mid-afternoon refreshments on each day.

High quality, en-suite accommodation is available for £47.50 per night on campus, a short walk from the conference rooms. Hotels and other accommodation are also available in and around the city.
Membership of ASEAS
All delegates must be members of ASEAS in order to attend the conference – note that the conference registration fee does not include ASEAS membership.
