The School of Law is dedicated to promoting global education through collaborative efforts.

On Friday 5 July 2024, the University of Leeds School of Law had the privilege of hosting a delegation from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL), a renowned institution under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. ZUEL is recognized for its pivotal role in the ‘211 Project’ and ‘985 Project Innovation Platform’, initiatives aimed at advancing China's higher education sector globally.

Led by the deputy head of school, the ZUEL delegation included prominent academics Professor Siduo Li (Deputy Secretary of ZUEL Law School), Professor Mingqing You, Professor Yidan Lei,  and Professor Qianglong Zan. They were warmly received by Dr George Zhou (Co-Director of Internationalisation), Dr Sam Lewis (Admission Tutor of LLM programmes), and Professor Louise Ellison (Head of the School of Law).

"The visit from ZUEL represents a continuation of our strong partnership," said Dr G Zhou. "It was an enriching experience to discuss future collaborations and explore new educational opportunities."

Discussions during the visit encompassed a wide range of topics, joint projects and student exchange programs. This exchange of ideas not only deepened the partnership between the two institutions but also reinforced the School of Law’s commitment to nurturing global perspectives.
