Juris North call for expressions of interest: Queer Theory, Leadership and Inclusion Roundtable: “Law’s a Drag, and so is Researching Law”

Juris North and Law's a Drag invites expressions of interest to participate as a speaker and/or engage as part of the panel on queer inclusivity in sociolegal research!

Dr James Greenwood-Reeves and Dr Rosie Fox will facilitate a discussion with artists from the Law’s a Drag network (including The Witch Blair, Pop Tart, Dan Glibits, Ian Cell and AJ-47) to talk about key themes across three Roundtable Sessions: a) inclusion of queer voices in identifying the subject of legal research; b) how to empower drag artists, and queer people more broadly, in the design and execution of legal research; c) consultation methods for including queer people in that process, eg advisory boards.

By moving away from the ‘traditional’ paper presentation style, we will conduct an exercise in which we will have a speaker or two introducing their own experiences as individuals, as well as leaders in their field and others participating in the form of a panel of experts, together with an open audience.

What/When/Where: 14th June 2024, 1200-1700, G.33, School of Law, Liberty Building, University of Leeds. Hybrid online attendance will be possible.

Participants: Open to all. We want our events to be multi-disciplinary, transversal and inclusive (academics, policymakers, and all members of the public, from different states, religions, genders, ethnicities, etc.).

Participation: All are welcome to attend as observers or informal discussants. We will also be allowing participation online. Please email J.R.H.Greenwood-Reeves@leeds.ac.uk if you would like to join us!
