An update from the ICC: Preparing for the launch in 2026/27
A short update from the Imaginative Curriculum research Centre steering group around the launch of this new centre.
We have been preparing for the launch of the Centre and would like to thank everybody who has joined us and their input to some of the information sessions. These have informed our plans.
The Centre will be a hub with its people at the heart. It will offer opportunities to connect with educators and students across the education sector and learning organisations. Everybody will be able to participate in activities, research and scholarship projects. We are also inviting you to propose and consider leading some of the activities.
The academic year 2026/27 will be very exciting. Showcasing your work, enabling you to connect with others and support you are our priorities. If there are projects you are currently working on that relate to the Centre, please get in touch with us so that we can include these on our website and work with you in how best to share this work further.
We have joined-up with the international #creativehe community and will continue organising online meet-ups throughout the year. So let us know if you would like to be one of our guests.
We will be organising two world cafés in the next academic year, one in each semester. The first one will also be our launch event and give us the opportunity to meet you in-person or online. For the world cafés, we are inviting you to consider submitting an idea you would like to explore with others.
This could be something you are developing for your curriculum, a resource, game or anything else you would like to use to spice up the curriculum.
We are delighted to welcome two visiting scholars from China in semester 1 and are very much looking forward to working with them.
In spring we will be organising our first Creative Nomad Festival in collaboration with LITE, ODPL and DELI and further partners. We are looking for student volunteers and colleague to support the planning, preparations and facilitation of the festival.
In early summer we will also be organising a Maker jam. Watch this space for more related information and get in touch if you have ideas and would like to be involved in some way.
There are already opportunities for you to share your imaginative and creative learning and teaching activities for the Imagine book. Have a look. Thank you to all of you who have contributed already. The plan is to curate multiple creative activities organised in alphabetical order. We would love to include your ideas!
For students, we are continuing to grow the open Learning with AI collection. It is a book and a research project and provides opportunities to share how students are using AI in their learning.
The website is now live, and there is a LinkedIn group so that we can stay in touch.
