Professor Gerard McCormack visits China and Hong Kong
In June 2023, Professor of International Business Law, Gerard McCormack visited Hong Kong and Shenzhen China where he helped to develop international links for the School of Law.
In Hong Kong, Professor McCormack spoke at a conference organised by Hong Kong's Maritime and Commercial Law Centre on the future of Insolvency Law in Hong Kong.
He gave a joint paper with the conference organiser, Professor Wan Wai Yee, on Incentivising 'Early-Stage Debt Restructuring for Large Firms: A Study of Hong Kong and some United Kingdom Comparisons'.
Following the conference, Professor McCormack proceeded to Shenzhen China PRC where he visited Peking University's School of Transnational Law and gave a lecture on 'Discharge and modification of debts under English (and Hong Kong) Law'.
