School of Law alumna and second year student feature in latest ‘Forever Leeds’ podcast
Forever Leeds is the new podcast for everyone who went to Leeds, has children or relatives at Leeds right now, or is thinking of applying to study at Leeds themselves.
The latest Forever Leeds podcast features School of Law alumna Lucia Henry (Criminology and Criminal Justice 2021) and second year LLB student Kinga Rolak.
Lucia speaks about her experiences as a Student Representative in the School of Law, creating her own society and her voluntary work.
Say 'yes' to the opportunities that come up.
Kinga also discusses her pro bono work with ‘Support Through Court’, arranged by the School of Law’s Community Engagement Team, which involves providing practical and emotional support for people who are going through the court system alone. Kinga also talks about how glad she is to be able to access opportunities like this through the University.
Volunteering is amazing because you can see the difference you make to people instantly.
The episode also features Labour MP for Birmingham Yardley, Jess Phillips (Economics, Social Policy and Social History 2003), who tells us how studying at Leeds shaped her life, her politics and her love of dance music. We meet the visionary planner behind Leeds’ world-famous modernist architecture, now celebrating his 100th birthday and we learn why Leeds researchers say we have to act now to restore the world's depleted peatlands.
