Community of Research Engaged Schools

Our research

Building on existing partnerships between the University of Leeds and education providers in Yorkshire, and across the UK, CORES aims to maximise opportunities for school-based research and facilitate collaboration.

Dr Paula Clarke, Founder of CoRES & Associate Professor in Psychological Approaches to Childhood and Inclusive Education

We are rapidly emerging as a dynamic community that brings together education-based practitioners and researchers to ignite collaboration and innovation, empowering schools and researchers to create lasting, positive change for learners everywhere.  Acting as a central hub, we connect schools with research expertise across the University of Leeds, ensuring collaboration is seamless and impactful.

Our mission is to empower educators through practitioner-led research, co-design innovative projects, and develop activities that turn academic research into real-world benefits. By listening to schools’ priorities, we shape research that truly matters and work together on funding opportunities that drive progress.

This community also opens doors for schools to participate in research projects and access high-quality professional development grounded in evidence and best practice.

Our community is open to all levels of education providers in the region, and beyond.
