Join us for a roundtable event with visiting Professor Julian Webb from the University of Melbourne.
Please join us for the Legal Professions Research Group (LPRG) lunchtime roundtable event (sandwiches will be provided) featuring Professor Julian Webb, our visiting professor from the University of Melbourne, and one of the world's leading scholars in the legal professions/legal ethics/legal education space. Julian will be discussing a range of themes and topics that are ‘interesting’ around the legal ethics space currently. Please come armed with any questions or just to listen to what should be a very interesting and wide ranging discussion.
To give you a taste of where Julian's research interests currently lie, he has been involved in projects considering lawyers’ responsibilities around climate change; human dignity as a ‘ground’ for legal ethics (see his 'Leading Works' volume published by Routledge last year); situationism in legal ethics; and the lack of normative theory behind behavioural legal ethics. With Viv Holmes and Tony Foley at the Australian National University, Julian has recently completed data collection on a large survey in three Australian states looking at the various correlations between ethical climate, incivility, organisational measures of positive wellbeing, and poor mental health.
