I am a Senior Research Fellow in Digital Education. My previous roles have involved developing blended learning and online training and teaching materials, both in the private sector and at the University of Leeds. My background is in education research, having worked in the history of education, research in assessment and evaluation and in digital learning for many years.

I am particularly interested in digital technology in higher education, including the impact on teaching and learning, unbundling, and the acquisition of digital skills.I use blended learning approaches in my teaching and I am an educator on the FutureLearn Blended Learning Essentials suite of MOOCs. I am interested in MOOCs more generally and how learners behave in MOOCs. I am also interested in learning analytics and how they might be used to learn more about tecahing and learning, but also the challenges associated with learning analytics.to analyse the masses of data from MOOCs.
I am currently working on the ESRC-funded research project 'The Unbundled University: Researching emerging models in an unequal landscape' on which I am a co-Investigator.
