‘Fair Shares and Families’ Report Launch Breakfast Seminar

We invite you to this breakfast seminar for the report launch of the Fair Shares and Families research project, led by Dr Gill Main in collaboration with The Children’s Society.

Every day, families with children make choices about how to use the resources they have. While we already know a great deal about the impact that child poverty and not having enough has on children and their parents, relatively little is known about how families bargain and share what resources they do have amongst themselves.

The Fair Shares and Families research project sought to examine how families with children think, talk and act in relation to obtaining and sharing resources; how children are involved in these processes; whether family approaches differ across the socio-economic spectrum; and how different approaches relate to child and parental well-being.

This breakfast seminar will look at the key findings from this new research and implications for policy and practice. The event will bring together a range of policy and research experts within government, academia, civil society and policy makers with an interest in family, poverty, disadvantage and children’s well-being.

If you have any questions about the event or the research, please get in touch with Rebecca Jacques at The Children's Society.
