Research in Challenging Times: Research Students' Education Conference 2021

Join us at our interactive online conference featuring presentations and keynote speeches which explore researching during challenging times.

Everybody knows that 2020 and 2021 have been tremendously difficult years. However, even when there isn’t an ongoing global health crisis, research can be impacted by a range of political, personal, social, and cultural circumstances. Postgraduate researchers from the fields of education and social sciences will explore how to navigate research during times of crisis.

This year, we're thrilled to welcome Professor Teela Sanders from the University of Leicester and Dr Richard Smith from the University of Warwick as keynote speakers for our conference.

Our conference features a mix of pre-recorded presentations (which will be available to view a week before) and live, interactive sessions (on May 24th). We will send you all the information/links you need a week before the conference so please remember to register. (If you register the week before the conference, don't worry. We'll still send you this information but you might have lesser time to watch the videos).

We want to make the conference accessible and welcoming to as large a number of people as possible. Our pre-recorded presentations will be hosted on our conference website. The live presentations, Q&A panels, and keynote speeches will take place on Zoom where conference attendees are encouraged to chat and contribute as well. We will also have an informal lunch hangout on Microsoft Teams.

Please let us know if you have any access needs to be able to participate in the conference. You can contact us through Eventbrite or email us at edursec@leeds.ac.uk.
