Exploring educational transitions across the lifespan: reflections from a WUN webinar

School of Education Post Graduate Researcher (PGR), Andrea Anguera Alemany, has recently presented a talk in the WUN Global Mental Health Webinar Series.

The webinar, presented by Andrea alongside Dr Christina Sotiropoulou Drosopoulou and Professor Clare Wright, aimed to explore how learners experience educational transitions from childhood through to higher education. Drawing on their respective research areas, the session offered a multidisciplinary perspective on the challenges and opportunities associated with educational progression.

The discussion focused on three central themes, how education systems identify and respond to complex learner needs during key transitional stages, the factors which influence wellbeing, and what system-level changes are required to support inclusion, wellbeing, and successful educational progression

The webinar adopted an interactive format rather than a presentation‑led structure, incorporating discussion, breakout groups, and opportunities for participants to share insights and experiences. Colleagues from within the Worldwide Universities Network (WUN) engaged actively, contributing to a collaborative and reflective learning environment.

The event facilitated meaningful exchange among participants and underscored the value of cross‑institutional collaboration in addressing the complexities of educational transitions.
