Dr McAnulla explains devolution for Yorkshire on BBC Radio Leeds

Last Week Dr Stuart McAnulla provided an accessible explanation for BBC Radio Leeds about Yorkshire devolution.

In a special broadcast exploring devolution Dr McAnulla discussed the issues and arguments around the concept. He discussed the potential economic benefits of devolution as a potential method for tackling the economic divide between north and south. He also explained why devolution for regions like Yorkshire has leaped higher on the political agenda.

In the programme he commented:

“[It’s] certainly true that many feel a strong sense of alienation from Westminster politics…there’s a feeling that politicians in London are just too remote from everyday life in places like the north.”
