Reducing the number of MPs: Dr Honeyman speaks to BBC Radio Leeds

Dr Victoria Honeyman suggests reducing the number of MPs and what the possible redrawing of constituency boundaries.

Dr Victoria Honeyman featured on BBC Radio Leeds earlier this week discussing the possible benefits of reducing the number of MPs and the possible redrawing of constituency boundaries.

Victoria highlights that the reshaping of the government isn’t a particularly new phenomenon as it has already been done by Blair previously and was in fact initially proposed by the 2010 coalition government.

She continues by arguing that we do need to change boundaries as the country changes along with demographics, since MPs may currently have large discrepancies in the size of their constituency, yet have “a similar say in the House of Commons”.
