Ghana: The ‘Rising Star’ of Inequality

David Johnson's latest article explains that impressive growth rates and the reduction of poverty in Ghana hide a rampant inequality that pervades the country.

Although Ghana's progress in poverty reduction has to be acknowledged, income inequality has significantly increased, which seems to be fueling fraud.

David Johnson is a second year undergraduate studying BA International Development, and he is currently doing research on the political economy of democratic consolidation, inequality, NGOs and state development in Africa at the University of Ghana in Accra.
