Professor Cristina Leston-Bandeira becomes a member of the Digital Parliament Commission of the Portuguese Parliament

Professor Cristina Leston-Bandeira was invited by the President of the Portuguese Parliament to be adviser to the newly constituted Digital Parliament Commission.

This invitation follows on from the work Professor Leston-Bandeira has developed in the Digital Democracy Commission set up by the Speaker of the House of Commons in the UK. She will be using her expertise in public and digital engagement to advise the Digital Parliament Commission, recently set up by the President of the Portuguese Parliament. The Digital Parliament Commission aims to support the development of better communication between parliament and citizens.

Professor Leston-Bandeira’s collaboration was formally announced earlier this week, when she was invited to meet the President of the Portuguese Parliament and to give evidence to a hearing to the Digital Parliament Commission, in Lisbon.
