Research by Professor Kevin Theakston cited in BBC News
The BBC have cited the research in an article about MPs who lose their seats at general election.
An article, co authored by Professors Kevin Theakston (POLIS) and Christopher Byrne (University of Nottingham), has been cited in a BBC news item on plans for MPs who lose their seats at the next general election to be given taxpayer-funded help finding a new job.
Professors Theakston and Byrne’s article ‘Leaving the House: The Experience of Former Members of Parliament Who Left the House of Commons in 2010’ reports the findings of a large-scale survey investigating the experiences of the large number of MPs who left Parliament following the 2010 General Election. It was published in 2016 in Parliamentary Affairs.
