Climate Leadership Article by Professor Richard Beardsworth Published by Open Access Government

Professor Beardsworth has been published by Open Access Government discussing climate finance and political will.

Professor of International Relations and Head of School, Professor Richard Beardsworth, has had his article, ‘Climate leadership now: Climate finance & political will’ published by Open Access Government in their April 2023 edition. 

The article argues that, while climate finance ‘provides the key to breaking the deadlock between developed and developing countries by aligning the strategies of mitigation with adaptation and loss and damage’, that this ‘key’ is political as well as economic. Professor Beardsworth then considers climate leadership from this dual perspective, paying particular attention to discussion of the Bridgetown Initiative.
