The piece explores how African countries are tackling the challenge of economic fraud.
Dr Jörg Wiegratz and Nataliya Mykhalchenko’s article ‘The fight against economic fraud: how African countries are tackling the challenge’ is a short summary of their joint research into “major characteristics of anti-fraud measures in several African countries”. Their research identified a diverse set of measures that had been introduced across 11 African countries (Malawi, Botswana, South Africa, Zambia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Madagascar, Ghana, Nigeria and Sierra Leone). From the measures introduced, Dr Wiegratz and Nataliya were able to identify 10 particular characteristics which they outline within the piece.
