Profile

I am a PhD researcher at the University of Leeds (School of Sociology and Social Policy), focusing on gender, care, migration, and the everyday politics of social reproduction in contemporary China. My current doctoral project examines the motherhood construction and embodied experiences of 陪读妈妈 (mothers who relocate to accompany their children’s education) in Changsha.

Research interests

My broader research interests include mobile media and social relations among marginalised groups, gendered agency in digital environments, and the intersection between cultural norms, technology use, and intimate life.
