Profile

In 2018, I graduated with my Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) (First Class Honours) degree from the University of Birmingham. After graduation, I pursued a career in community pharmacy in Central London, where I led teams, provided essential healthcare services, and served on the front line during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

Following this period, I transitioned into academia. From 2021 to 2022, I worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Warwick, University of Leeds, and University College London. My research focused on key social issues, including mental health in BAME (Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic) communities, domestic abuse, and sexual harassment and misconduct within university settings.

In 2022, I returned to education, beginning an ESRC-funded White Rose Doctoral Training Partnership (WRDTP) 1+3 Postgraduate Studentship at the University of Leeds. I completed my MA in Social Research (Interdisciplinary) (Distinction) in 2023, and I am now undertaking the three-year PhD. This PhD is part of the Security, Conflict, and Justice pathway of the WRDTP, contributing to the ESRC Vulnerability Futures Research Centre. My research explores the lived experiences of young people to better understand their experiences of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and trauma, compounded by interactions with the police and Criminal Justice System (CJS), and how this impacts life trajectories.
